When I first met Julia in a little breakfast café in Nanaimo, I had no idea about the amazing things she had planned for her wedding. As we talked over coffee, I knew I was sold as soon as she said "We're having it on an island."
One of the most important things about weddings is in the details. Not just the big moments, but each painstaking element that go hand in hand to form the big picture. Its the small touches that make for the most personal of affairs. From the ornate figurines and table settings that Julia raided every store on the west coast to find, to the carefully crafted guest packages adorned with curious calligraphy, there was an old world elegance to everything that charmed me from the very start of the day.
Excitement aside, it was a personal and intimate occasion for myself as well. Graeme and Julia were the first couple to book a wedding with me, and I couldn't have asked for a more sincere and amicable duo to work with. They were an absolute pleasure to shoot, and I left that island feeling inspired and fulfilled.
Julia and Graeme, congratulations. I'm so glad I got to be a part of your wedding, and I couldn't think of a better way to end my summer.
Lastly, I'd like to thank Rochelle Robichaud for introducing me to the couple. If it wasn't for you, I would have never gotten the chance.
